We are currently in our 11th year of the St. Joseph Community Festival and we lost one of our key members, Rose Graveno, to cancer in October 2016. The first year of the Festival we were assembled out of the back parking lot of the school playground and Rose chaired the Bake Sale Booth. Rose put all her effort into recruiting volunteers to donate their delicious baked goods to be sold at the Bake Sale. As the Festival got bigger the Bake Sale was moved into the Cafeteria and Rose recruited even more volunteers to make sure there were plenty of baked goods from Tuesday thru Saturday. Each year Rose also had a specialty item such as strawberry shortcake, various pies with ice cream, chocolate frozen bananas and hot apple crisp for sale. The Bake Sale has been very successful every year due to Rose’s great leadership and hard work and the many volunteers continuing to donate their baked goods.
In remembrance of Rose the St. Joseph Community Festival Bake Sale is now called “Rose’s Bake Sale” in her honor. We are also very fortunate that Rose’s cousin, Marsha Anderson, continues to lead Rose's Bake Sale.
If you wish to contribute baked goods, please contact Marsha e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
